BOOK BEAT EVENING with author Nick Pirog, whose book is titled "Gray Matter." His latest book is about a smart-aleck homicide detective named Thomas Prescott who, fresh off the heels of a copy-cat murder investigation and ruined love life, returns to his hometown of Seattle, only to be thrown into the middle of the biggest murder investigation in Washington state history.

This is the second book published by Pirog featuring Prescott; his first is titled "Unforeseen."
