BOOK BEAT EVENING: CBS News correspondent Barry Petersen - "Jan's Story"
Thursday, July 01 2010, 6:00pm

BOOK BEAT EVENING with Emmy Award-winning CBS News correspondent Barry Petersen, who's a Denver resident and member of the Denver Press Club. His book is titled, "Jan's Story," and it's about his wife getting diagnosed with Alzheimer's at age 55 - what it mean, what it still means, what he did and didn't do. "Jan's Story" is a full, rich story of two people - and millions like them - for whom "forever" suddenly and terrifyingly has an expiration date.

Petersen has covered wars, genocide, and interviewed dozens of stars - as well as Bosnian War Crimes Tribunal suspects. He has shared both Peabody and DuPont Awards for being a part of the CBS News Radio coverage of the Tianamen Square uprising in 1989, and an Edward R. Murrow Award for sportswriting for a story on baseball coming to Beijing. Free and open to all; no registration required. Just show up.
